Milber Makris Plousadis & Seiden, LLP, a full-service civil litigation defense firm and business partner to the insurance industry, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Assistant with 2+ years’ experience and/or related administrative experience. Candidate must be eager to learn, organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This hybrid role is based out of our Woodbury, New York office. Upon completion of a minimum of six weeks of in-office training, candidate will transition to a hybrid work schedule.

HR Assistant Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, personnel administration, personnel management, business administration or a related field.
• Familiarity with HR software and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Spreadsheets, Word, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams)
• Superior organizational skills, time management, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong typing and data entry skills.
• Strict commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive employee and company data.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Providing administrative support to the HR department.
• Assisting with data/file management processes across all related databases for all personnel.
• Compiling and maintaining paper, digital and electronic employee records.
• Assist with tracking attendance, PTO, and leave requests.
• Assisting with recruiting tasks such as online job postings, interview scheduling, reference checks, and preparation of rejection/acceptance letters.
• Assisting with the onboarding and offboarding process.
• Assisting with termination-related matters and termination letters.
• Serving as a helpful liaison between employees and HR management, resolving basic inquiries or routing complex issues to specialist.
• Assisting with employment verifications.
• Assisting with regulatory compliance and reporting.
• Supporting any special projects the HR director needs assistance with.
